A maintenance project near the Ocean County courthouse and administration building will necessitate the closure of Hooper Avenue for most of the day Saturday.
According to county officials, Hooper Avenue, from Washington Street to Madison Avenue, will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23 while construction work is done on the overhead pedestrian walking bridge located across Hooper Avenue.
Motorists can use Madison Avenue to access Hadley Avenue and Washington Street. Motorists approaching Hooper Avenue from Washington Street should turn at Hadley Avenue and access Hooper Avenue from Madison Avenue. Detours will be posted during work hours.
Pedestrians are urged to use caution in the area of the work zone and avoid the area if possible for safety precautions.
