Lottery Ticket Worth $50K Sold in Toms River Liquor Store

A lottery ticket worth $50,000 was sold at a liquor store in Toms River, state lottery officials said Thursday morning.

The winning ticket was a runner-up in the Powerball Double Play game.



The Double Play drawing, according to lottery officials, is an additional drawing for players who opted-in to the Double Play feature on their tickets. One Double Play ticket match four of the five white balls and the Double Play ball drawn, winning the $50,000 double play prize for the Wednesday, Feb. 1 drawing. That ticket was purchased at Spirit’s Unlimited, 941 Route 37 West, Toms River. The particular Spirits location is across the highway from the township’s Walmart store, next to Value City Furniture.

The Double Play drawing results for the Wednesday, February 1, drawing were: 04, 23, 39, 57 and 63. The Double Play Ball number was 26.

The overall winning numbers for the Wednesday, February 1, drawing were: 31, 43, 58, 59 and 66. The Red Power Ball number was 09. The Power Play was 2X. A total of 67,879 New Jersey players took home an estimated $343,092 in prizes ranging from $4 to $200. The Powerball jackpot rolls to $700,000,000 for the next drawing to be held Saturday, February 4, at 10:59 pm.
