Watch: Sailing Into the Sunset Tuesday Night; Rain, Wind on the Way This Weekend

With sunset occurring much earlier these days, a silver lining is our ability to sneak in a quick ride on the water before covering a government meeting of some sort (Tuesday night’s assignment was Brick Township council).

Mother Nature didn’t disappoint, with spectacular views of the setting sun seen from all corners of the local waterways, and a pleasing show put on by many of the colorful boats of the Metedeconk River Yacht Club, which were out for a sunset sail.

Sunny, but cool, weather is expected for the remainder of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS forecast calls for a high of 70 degrees Wednesday with light winds, and an overnight low dipping to 55 degrees. It will be breezy overnight into Thursday, with northerly gusts reaching about 20 m.p.h.

Thursday and Friday will both be mostly sunny (a few more clouds on Thursday) with a high of 64 both days, with overnight lows in the mid-50s.

Some light rain will begin to fall Friday night, the NWS said, with rain likely Saturday, mainly after 2 p.m. Likewise, rain is likely Sunday, along with breezy conditions. Highs will reach just into the mid-60s both days this weekend.

Depending on the track of Hurricane Ian, rain could linger into next week.
