Two blood drives are planned locally in the coming days and weeks, as officials from across the region are in agreement that the supply of blood for transfusion patients is critically low.
The blood drive organizer, New Jersey Blood Center, also announced that every donor is invited to register their support for the blood center to donate $1 on their behalf to Global Blood Fund (GBF). GBF has created a platform to match Ukrainian refugees with host homes across the UK, Canada, and USA. The two local drives are located at:
St. Andrew United Methodist Church
Thurs. April 7 from 1-7 p.m.
1528 Church Rd., Toms River 08755
Christ Episcopal Church
Thurs. April 21 from 12:30-6:30 p.m.
415 Washington St., Toms River 08753
Registration is suggested. Participants can register at this link.
