A fire tore through an Ortley Beach home Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m., prompting a response from numerous fire companies, EMTs and police departments.
Ladder trucks doused the home, located one house in from the corner of Bay Boulevard and First Avenue, with water from two directions as other firefighters tackled flare-ups from the ground. The fire was brought under control by about 4:30 p.m., as the ladder trucks began wrapping up.
