Minimal Snowfall Expected This Weekend After Mild Friday, Saturday

Temperatures on Friday and Saturday will range well into the 50s, even approaching the 60-degree mark Saturday, before a cold front moves in with chilly air and a small amount of snow, the National Weather Service said.

The high Friday will be 54 degrees in Ocean County, with sunny skies and light, variable winds. On Saturday, the high will reach 58 degrees, and the sun will continue to shine with light southwest winds. Then, Saturday night, the temperature will drop precipitously to an overnight low of just 28 degrees – a 30 degree swing within hours – and a chance of snow could occur after 1 a.m.

The snow will barely accumulate, adding up to a trace or half-inch. A 40 percent chance of snow will remain in place Sunday, however it is not expected that a storm front will come close enough to shore to produce significant snowfall. Trace amounts to an inch are expected Sunday.

The sun will return Monday, but with a high of just 28 degrees.
