A father and his toddler-age son were located safely by authorities after they had been reported missing about two hours earlier.
Police took a report at 7:37 p.m. from a resident who said the two had been eight hours overdue without being heard-from. They had “no means of communication or travel,” police said in a statement.
A multi-agency search by Toms River Police Patrol and Detective units, Toms River fire companies, and the New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit, ended at 9:48 p.m. when the father and son were located safe in the area of Cattus Island.
The incident is under investigation, police said.
