New Jersey Department of Transportation officials announced Friday that Route 9 northbound will be closed and detoured Friday night as a stormwater maintenance and repair project advances in Lakewood.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, June 11, until 6 a.m. Saturday, June 12, NJDOT’s contractor, Joseph M. Sanzari, Inc., is scheduled to close Route 9 northbound at Henry Street in Lakewood. This closure will allow the contractor to complete stormwater inspections and repairs, the department announced. Motorists are being advised to follow the signed detour or plan an alternate route.
This project is part of a larger $6 million state-funded maintenance and drainage repair contract to make improvements in various locations in seven counties throughout New Jersey.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information.
