Police: Missing Alzheimer’s Patient Found Safe

Marilyn Balzer, an 80-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, has been found after being missing for about two days, police in Toms River said.

“Marilyn has been found safe and is being transported to Monmouth Medical South for evaluation and treatment,” police said in a statement.

Details on her physical condition were not revealed publicly. More information was expected later Monday in a formal press release, police said.

Balzer disappeared after leaving her home in the Lake Ridge section of Toms River early Saturday morning. On Sunday evening, police said that surveillance video along Route 9 in Toms River captured images of her walking along the highway.
