A fast-growing local company is rewarding students who develop their reading skills with free meals at their restaurants through a partnership program with schools and teachers.

The objective of Bubbakoo’s Burritos’ program is to uphold the value of education to a young audience, surrounding schools, and educators, the company said.

“As a well-established company, Bubbakoo’s Burritos wishes to add praise to school-related accomplishments and continuous growth in knowledge, literacy and overall learning,” the now-national restaurant chain said in an announcement of its “Read It to Eat It” program.

The initiative promotes education among all ages and grade levels, across a variety of school-related subjects. The Bubbakoo’s Burritos brand was built by their community involvement in partnership with local schools, and their commitment to the development of the markets served. It has been a theme that has made the company a favorite among Jersey Shore residents – especially young people.

The Read It To Eat It Project will be comprised of two print marketing materials given to schools. The ‘Book List Card,’ displays five lines for hand-written book titles upon completion. Once five books are read, the teacher will sign the post card providing verification. The student will then receive a ‘Free Student Meal Card’ which will be attached to the Book List Card. Students will then bring in the cards for a Free Student Meal.

“We’re excited to inspire reading among children,” said Bubbakoo’s Burritos Co-Founder, Bill Hart. “It feels great to make a positive shift in the community, and delicious food has the power to be a great incentive. We are so excited to introduce this program while also encouraging continued learning.”

Beginning now, the Read It To Eat It Project will be redeemable at Bubbakoo’s Burritos restaurants. Those interested in participating can visit https://www.bubbakoos.com/readitoeatit to learn more about the program and for schools to sign up.
