A Beachwood man has pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute this week, following his arrest which yielded quantities of several drugs, including 700 grams of cocaine.
Michael Trotman, 35, of Beachwood, will be sentenced March 20, prosecutors said in a statement. The state will be recommending that Trotman be sentenced to 12 years in New Jersey State Prison with a five-year period of parole ineligibility.
The case stems from a traffic stop that occurred May 30, 2018, when Manchester Township police executed a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle being operated by Trotman. Trotman consented to a search of the vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of a hidden compartment in the center console area containing approximately 700 grams of Cocaine, as well as quantities of codeine, oxycodone pills, and marijuana – all packaged for distribution, according to prosecutors.
Approximately $1,400 in cash was also discovered in the vehicle and seized by the officers.
