Police across Ocean County are continuing the hunt for a vehicle connected with a carjacking in Lakewood last night that left a man stabbed multiple times.
Lakewood Police Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said the incident occurred at about 11 p.m. Sunday, when a 24-year-old Lakewood man told police he was carjacked by three men as he arrived at a friend’s house. The men, wearing ski masks, “forcefully removed him” from the car, Staffordsmith said, leading to the victim being stabbed three times in the ensuing struggle. The victim’s friend drove him to Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, in Lakewood.
A day later, police were intensively looking for the stolen vehicle – a black 2007 BMW (the model of the vehicle was not released) with New Jersey plate number J96-GXJ.
The suspected carjackers are to be considered armed and dangerous, said Staffordsmith.
Anyone who spots the vehicle is being asked to call 911 or contact Officer Kevin Martin at 732-363-0200, ext. 5340.
