The owner of the Dover Mall shopping center, also known as the Crossroads Mall, will propose an addition to the Toms River planning board next month.
The shopping center, which houses the busy Shop-Rite supermarket, is located at the intersection of routes 166 and 37. Parking is often at a premium.
The proposal by DAN-D Inc., the corporate owner of the shopping center, is proposing an approximately 10,860 square foot addition to the existing Shop-Rite store together, with a parking lot expansion. The planning board application did not detail how the space will be utilized or how many new parking spaces will be added.
DAN-D will seek a variance from the board for its minimum side yard setback requirement of 15 feet. The developer is proposing 8.8 feet.
The hearing will be held Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. at the township municipal complex on Washington Street.
