Firefighters in Toms River say the occupants of a sedan that became submerged at a boat ramp were uninjured.
The Silverton Volunteer Fire Company said in a social media post that they were called to the Alabama Avenue boat ramp along with Silverton EMS and Toms River police. They arrived to find a Volkswagen Passat submerged in the tidal creek near the ramp.
“The caller was a passing resident [who] saw something and called 911,” the post said. “Upon arrival the vehicle was deemed safe and unoccupied with all occupants accounted for and not injured.”
Word of the incident was spread via social media earlier Thursday night.
