Toms River is looking for a few good cops.
Applications are now being accepted for the department’s 2018 police test, officials announced today.
The Toms River Police Department “strives to recruit and employ candidates who meet strict educational, physical and ethical standards,” the announcement said.
While the recruiting process is ongoing, testing occurs once every three years and applications are only accepted during specific times, immediately prior to a scheduled entrance exam. Anyone who meets the following criteria is eligible to apply to the Toms River Police Department for the position of Probationary Police Officer:
- A United States citizen.
- Between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. If 64 credits from an accredited college or university and two years of active duty in the military. Or, 64 credits from an accredited college or university and two years as a full time regular police officer elsewhere.
The written exam will take place Sept. 8 and the fitness and swim test will be held Oct. 28. For more information, visit http://www.trpolice.org/administration-bureau/recruitment/.
