Toms River police were requesting the public’s help in their search to identify a man who is suspected of burglarizing several businesses along the Route 9 corridor last week.
According to police spokesman Ralph Stocco, several thefts were reported from businesses along Route 9 the week of Nov. 5. Surveillance footage captured from Mambos Discount Tire, 1658 Route 9, has identified a suspect and his vehicle.
Police are trying to determine the identity of a white male in his 60s or 70s with grey hair, Stocco said. He is believed to be between 5’7 and 5’10” tall. At the time of the thefts he was operating what appears to be an older model Ford Ranger pick-up truck, according to police. The truck has New Jersey License plates, a broken rear window, and a visible dent in the center of the rear bumper.
Additionally, the right rear taillight is not working. The suspect has stolen nearly $2,000 worth of vehicle tire rims from various businesses, said Stocco.
