Vincent Passalacqua
Toms River police arrested a man for stealing from a church’s donation box, after posting his photo to social media.
The apprehension is linked to a burglary and theft that occurred Sept. 4th in which the church donation box at Christ Episcopal Church on Washington Street was broken into.
Vincent Passalacqua, 22, who resides at the Pine Rest motel on Route 37, was observed on church surveillance footage, said Ralph Stocco, police spokesman. The footage was released to local media and on the police department’s Facebook page. He was charged by Detective Patrick Jacques with burglary and theft by unlawful taking.
Passalacqua remains in the Ocean County Jail on a no bail warrant.
“We want to thank the citizens who took the time to respond to our request for identification,” Stocco said. “They were instrumental in the apprehension of Passalacqua.”
