Nine candidates will vie for three available seats on the Toms River Board of Education in this November’s election, including the wife of a township council member.
Monday was the filing deadline for candidates in the election, which is considered nonpartisan (though candidates are often aligned with a political party).
The field of candidates include incumbent Robert Onofrietti and former board member Ginny Rhine. Also running is Terri Kubiel, the wife of Republican township council member Brian Kubiel.
Also seeking seats are Al Caporaso, Al Schwartz, Stephen Kaczala, Michele Williams, Tammy Coyle and Michael Horgan.
