Earlier this week, Shorebeat profiled local resident Dennis Addesso, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who organized a 22 kilometer “ruck march” Saturday to raise funds and awareness to combat the sad reality that 22 former American service members take their own lives daily.
Addesso is the founder of Ma Deuce Deuce (MA22), which supports Operation Restored Warrior and Warhorse SCUBA, two programs designed to help military members get past the haunting war scenes that drive so many into misfortune.

The march went off without a hitch Saturday, running from Traders Cove Marina in Brick, then up and down Route 35, ending at the boardwalk in Seaside Heights. Spicy Cantina hosted a party afterwards.
