A Beachwood man was the subject of an investigation by local, county and federal agencies that resulted in his being charged with child pornography possession.
Gerald J. Moors, 20, of Beachwood, caught the eye of investigators after a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, indicating someone within Ocean County had downloaded images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office’s High Tech Crime Unit detectives initiated an investigation, which led to a search warrant being executed by the partnering agencies at 134 Beachwood Boulevard in Beachwood, the agency said in a statement.
As a result of the evidence located, Assistant Prosecutor Kristin Pressman approved charges of one count of third degree possession of child pornography. Moors was taken into custody and lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending a first appearance heading.
