A national auto parts chain has proposed a new location in Toms River along Route 37.
AutoZone is proposing a second store along the highway; it already has a location at 10 Route 37 west. The new store would be located farther east, at 797 Route 37, near the Squeeky Clean Car Wash, just west of the corner where Washington Street terminates at the highway.
According to planning documents, the chain is proposing a 7,382 retail store. The project would need a number of minor variances due to the shape of the lot for which it is proposed, and would also need a variance for the sign the store would have in front which would include neon-style colors.
The case will be heard June 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the township municipal complex, 33 Washington Street.
