Fans awaiting the grand opening of the first Mellow Mushroom restaurant in New Jersey will only have to wait a few more days.
The restaurant’s first location in New Jersey, located in the Harvard Square shopping center, 1111 Route 37 west, will open Monday, Dec. 19, the restaurant chain said via social media this week. The location had opened its doors to employees and their friends and family members last week, sparking rumors that it was open to the public.
At a township council meeting this week, the governing body approved the transfer of a liquor license to the establishment. The license was moved from inactive status – it had previously been used by a gentlemen’s club – to active status upon the transfer, officials said.
Mellow Mushroom is known for its pizza, calzones and hoagies – but it goes beyond the average pizzeria. The chain offers a full bar with ultra-modern-meets retro decor, craft beers aplenty, a vegetarian and gluten free menu, plus frequent events and entertainment.
The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
