Man Dies, Firefighter Injured in Toms River Mobile Home Fire

Authorities confirmed a man died in a fire that consumed a mobile home unit in Toms River on Thursday.

After receiving a 911 call at 3 p.m. about a fire at the Roberts Mobile Home Park, located at 2250 Route 9, police arrived to find one of the units “fully engulfed,” Toms River police said at the time. A neighbor told police he believed a resident was inside, but was unsure; officers tried to make entry but were brushed back by the flames.

On Friday, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that during the primary search of the residence after the fire was extinguished, the body of a deceased male was discovered. The man’s body was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for a post-mortem examination and identification, the prosecutor’s office said. The victim’s name was not available.
