Meanwhile, a heat advisory remains in effect for Ocean County, with the National Weather Service predicting a 100-104 degree heat index reading Thursday.
“Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur,” the advisory said. “Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.”

The NWS forecast predicts a high of 96 degrees Thursday, 95 degrees Friday, 95 degrees Saturday, 96 degrees Sunday and 92 degrees Monday.
