The Shore area is in for a deluge of rain on Wednesday as a strong cold front will push through the region, bringing thunderstorms and gusty winds.
According to the National Weather Service, there will be a chance of showers Wednesday morning, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. A quarter-inch of rain is expected to fall during the daytime hours, except in areas where thunderstorms may produce higher amounts of precipitation. The high will be 58 degrees.
The heaviest rain will arrive during the evening and nighttime hours. Showers and thunderstorms will be present Wednesday night, and an additional 1-2 inches of rain is expected to fall, with temperatures dropping into the mid-40s. The rain will continue Thursday morning until about 11 a.m., the NWS said, with another tenth to quarter-inch of rainfall expected.
Temperatures will dip following the front’s passage, with Thursday’s high reaching just 47 degrees and the overnight low dropping to 31 degrees. The clouds, however, will move out overnight and the sun will return Friday, albeit with a high temperature of only 41 degrees.
