The Ocean County Health Department on Tuesday released a modified schedule for its coronavirus vaccine clinics for the remainder of February. The same agency also reduced the hours of its mobile testing facility at Ocean County College starting next week.

Vaccine Clinic

The time change for the vaccine clinic at Toms River High School North begins with appointments this week, the agency announced. Appointments are now scheduled for earlier in the day. Therefore, if your appointment was scheduled between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., the department is asking that you arrive anywhere between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the date of your scheduled appointment.

This schedule will continue for the rest of the month, OCHD announced, “to better serve our residents and those that work and learn in Ocean County,” the agency said in its announcement.

The clinic will be closing at 5 p.m. Its location remains at the RWJ Barnabas Health Arena at Toms River North High School, located at 1245 Old Freehold Road in Toms River.

Testing Drive-Through Site

OCHD said that as the need for coronavirus tests produced by the holidays appears to be on the decline, it will again modify the hours at the Ocean County College drive-through testing site.

Beginning the week of Feb. 8, the Covid-19 drive thru testing site will operate from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, reducing the days from four to three.

There will be no testing done on Friday, Feb. 12 and Monday, Feb. 15 due to the Presidents Day holiday. By increasing the number of appointments taken hourly, close to 400 tests can be administered per day.

OCHD reported 223 new positive cases Tuesday in Ocean County.
