A Toms River man has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13, authorities announced Tuesday.
Robert E. Bell, 28, is accused of maintaining a sexual relationship with the girl since June. Investigators from the Toms River police department and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office began investigating Bell on Feb. 11 after the situation was brought to their attention, and filed charges Feb. 15.
Bell is charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault, five counts of sexual assault and seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending, said Jillian Messina, Toms River police spokeswoman.
