The owner of the property which is occupied by a McDonald’s restaurant has submitted an application to Toms River’s planning board seeking permission to expand the fast food establishment.
McDonald’s, located at 42 Route 37 East, is proposing the addition of a side-by-side drive-through to the existing McDonald’s restaurant, improvements to the building façade and interior for handicap accessibility, and improvements to the exterior accessible parking area and path-of-travel to the building. The plan requires minor variance relief for the directional signs that must be installed alongside the drive-through.
The property is owned by James Citta & Sons, Inc. McDonald’s is proposing the improvements as a tenant.
A hearing on the matter has been scheduled for the Dec. 19 board meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. in the township municipal complex on Washington Street.
