The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of New Jersey, including the Shore area, calling for high winds and blowing snow, though accumulations are forecast to be small.

A period of rain may begin after 5 p.m. Tuesday, changing to a mix and then all snow after 11 p.m. After the changeover, the snow will gradually come to an end with less than one inch having accumulated. The overnight low will be around 30 degrees.

On Wednesday, there will be a chance of rain or snow showers in the morning, followed by a period of sunshine. It will be windy, with a west wind 11 to 16 m.p.h. increasing to 23 to 28 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 50 m.p.h., even higher at the coast and barrier island areas. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
