A local company has submitted an application to the township’s planning board, seeking permission to build a 4,000 square foot vehicle repair garage and an adjacent office that will be used as a “vehicle repair and sales facility.”
The proposed plan by Fischer Auto Body includes a 4,000 square foot garage that would be constructed at 2 Froriep Lane, at the corner of Route 9, and the conversion of an existing single family residence into office space.
The proposed site is in the Highway Business Zone, so use variances are required, however the business is seeking a slew of more routine “bulk” variances – mostly setbacks of only a few feet outside of what the township’s building code permits. The facility would also include a 6-foot high block wall within a portion of the front yard setback along Route 9. The facility will include screened refuse areas and a trash enclosure to store scrap metal within the front yard along Route 9.
A hearing on the application will be heard at the board’s May 2 meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. at the municipal complex.
