As parents watched their children playing sports at Riverwood Park, a woman is suspected of having broken into numerous cars, stealing items including checks that were later used at several banks.

Several purses, credit cards, cash, and check books were removed, said police spokesman Ralph Stocco, after the suspect smashed in the windows of each car on the afternoon of Jan 7.
